Treasure Hunt Clues

The next time your kids whine about being bored, tell them to grab their sword, eye patch, and bandana because they’re goin’ on a treasure hunt! Don’t worry, your shovel won’t see a speck of dirt and there’s no swashbuckling or pillaging required. iMOM’s Treasure Hunt Clues printable will set them on a course for adventure!

Just cut out the numbered treasure hunt clues and hide them in their designated spots. We have a cheat sheet at the bottom, but you can try to guess where they go if you want a little challenge for yourself. To start your treasure hunt, hand your children the first clue, make them do their best pirate impression, and set them on their way! If your children need help, use the old “hot and cold” method of helping them zero in on a clue.

At the end of the hunt, you’ll need a “treasure.” If you don’t have gold doubloons don’t fret! Your treasure can be a piece of candy or a love note from you. You could even surprise them with a scroll that says you’re going to go see a movie, or if you’re feeling brave, you could offer a “No Rules Night.”

In love with scavenger hunts and games and want more? Here are other scavenger hunts you and the kids will enjoy. We have some for holidays like Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, and Valentine’s Day, and our outdoor-themed hunts are a great way to get the kids away from screens and breathing in some fresh air. If your kids have our scavenger hunts memorized, we have oodles more family games and activities that will put smiles on everyone’s faces and make you look like the most creative mom on the block.

Tell us! What is your favorite part of a treasure hunt with your kids?
