To stay strong and healthy, we need to think about what we eat and drink. So ask your kids how much sugar they think is in their favorite drink and then show them using How Sweet Is It?, Harvard’s guide for sugar content in drinks. Then, tell your kids to start scooping teaspoons of sugar into an empty cup, while you count. Lastly, remind your children of the recommended daily allowance of sugar. For women it’s 5 teaspoons (20 grams), for adult men, it’s 9 teaspoons (36 grams), and for children, it’s 3 teaspoons (12 grams) a day.
