Honor favor #4: Service

Here is one way you can make your family a place where honor is given away...

Whereas ministry tends to have some spiritual dimension, serving usually focuses on tasks that need to be done. One family volunteered for a "clean the park day." Doing yard work at the church or washing a car for the senior down the street are ways that families can reach out. They serve others to honor them, expecting nothing in return but the satisfaction of a job well done.  Sometimes children connect work with pay. They believe that if they work, they ought to receive some kind of compensation. Service is a way of showing children that sometimes we give of our time and energy without expecting anything in return. We just want to spread honor to others and bless them.
