Honor favor #5: Generosity

Here is one way you can make your family a place where honor is given away...

As you have financial resources available, consider how God might use your family to honor others. Have a family bank and choose a missionary or needy family to give the money to. Allow children to help make the decision and deliver the money, when possible. One family took some money, purchased baby supplies, and gave them to a single mom. Another family gave a special gift to the children of a missionary at Christmas. Yet another family tithed (gave 10 percent of) their Halloween candy and sent it to missionaries in Africa. Honoring others requires that families plan to have a little extra. Many people spend all they make – plus more – leaving themselves restricted, with nothing to give. Reserve a little extra money, time, and energy, so you can share it with others.
