2 Great Super Bowl Kids Games

Depending on the ages of your children, watching the Super Bowl can become a challenge in and of itself.  Children can get bored, even during the biggest game of the year. So here are two games that might help keep their interest and make the game more interactive for the whole family.

Game 1: Play BallLittle boy refereeing

You will need:

Safety pins or clothespins.

How to Play:

  1. Pin about 10 of the pins on each player’s shirt.
  2. Choose a common word like “ball” to be your taboo word.
  3. During the Super Bowl game if any family member says the word, and you catch them, they must give you one of their pins.
  4. The player with the most pins at the end of the game wins.
  5. If you want to make the game tougher you can add a taboo word each quarter so that by the 4th quarter there are 4 words that you can’t say.  Another way to make it exciting is to have a prize for the winner.

Game 2: Quarter Playjar of quarters

You will need:

A bowl filled with quarters and a bright colored cup to pass around.

How to Play:

  1. For each play of the Super Bowl game, the cup is passed to the next person.  If one of the Super Bowl teams does not score during the play the person with the cup takes a quarter from the bowl and puts it in the cup and then passes the cup.
  2. If a team scores a touch down or field goal the person holding the cup gets to keep the money in the cup.
  3. After each win, start over with an empty cup.
